If you do go and you see a cyclist in blue and black, that may be me. Ask me for some Kendal Mint Cake.

Ah never made it. Had woken up too early (I have the AM-variant of insomnia sometimes) then fell back asleep, too late for a reasonable train. Next week! Hope you had a nice ride though!

I am fortunate to live overlooking Newhaven Marina (Brighton Marina it ain’t, writing a thesis to boat builders’ grinding their angle grinders is an interesting experience – fortunately I like a bit of ‘noise’ music, Nate Young or Blood Stereo with a boat panel bashing accompaniment is fun – also Merzbow at low volume does wonders for soothing 6 months olds to sleep, done it with two) and I can be up the Ouse and along the South Downs Way (via Southease only though I walk there) without passing a soul. I have had the pleasure of reading Nick Land on Trakl in open countryside with only the faint grumble of a scrambler motorbike for company recently (although wyrdly it was whiilst reading Land’s criticism of Heidegger’s commentary on this Trakl poem – At the forest’s rim silence meets/ A dark beast;/ Quietly on the hill, dies the evening wind…).
Alternatively on the way back from Falmer, get off at Southease and walk home, oh if only I was in London…
🙂 Just rubbing it in
